The Huffman’s

Some sessions just have a little extra heart behind them—and this one with the Huffman family was truly one of those sweet, soul-filling ones.

This wasn’t just any family session—it was their first professional session as a family of three, celebrating their baby boy Jax turning six months old. And if that wasn’t already enough to make me emotional, the cherry on top? Both mom and dad went to the same high school as me! It’s always such a special feeling to reconnect with familiar faces from the past and document the beautiful life they’ve built together.

We met at Boise Urban Studio, one of my go-to spaces for sessions with littles. It has the dreamiest light and a minimal, cozy vibe that allows the connection between people to really shine. Ahead of time, we planned their outfits together—sticking to soft neutrals to keep things timeless and sweet (and spoiler alert: they absolutely crushed it with their fits).

And then there’s Jax. Sweet, squishy, perfect little Jax. Six months is such a magical stage—he was full of curious glances, and soft smiles, and melted into his parents’ arms like he belonged there all along. (Which he absolutely does. 🥹) He made my job so easy and so joyful, and it was an honor to document this milestone moment for them.

You could feel the love between this little trio—the calm, steady kind that says “We’re exactly where we’re meant to be.” Watching new parents take it all in, soaking up the season they’re in—it never gets old. These are the moments that deserve to be held onto.
